Leadership Academy I - Tier II Training
Leadership Academy I is designed for child care directors, assistant directors, and administrators. The Academy provides leadership skills training and focuses on ways to become a more effective leader to meet the needs of staff and children in their care. Leadership Academy I provides 40 hours of training and meets the training requirements for Two- and Three-Star Centers.
Class topics include:
- Communication
- Team Building
- Ethics
- Leadership Practices
- Traits/Behaviors/Characteristics
- Advocacy
- Mentoring
- Coping with Change
- Discipline
Application packets are mailed to all Licensed Child Care Centers in Oklahoma in the Spring and Fall of each year.
Applicants must possess a current Oklahoma Registry Director’s Credential with strong selection preference given to:
- Directors/Administrators of centers rated One Star Plus and above
- Centers accepting state subsidy children
