What Constitutes a Conflict of Interest?

Many Educators have been asking our offices: "What constitutes a conflict of interest as it relates to the services contracted by me with CECPD?" The level of conflict of interest displayed below represents the intensity of services provided by an individual Educator as it relates to the impact of the integrity in supporting the "Reaching for the Stars" program.

Here are some questions to consider before agreeing to do a Specialized Training, Child Care Careers, or Entry Level Child Care Training service for a child care center, school-age program or family child care home:

Questions to consider if you were to provide CDA Advisor or CCP Field Counselor Services:

  1. Do I work in the same classroom as the candidate? Such as a co-er relationship

  2. Do I have a relative by any legal means at the program and/or the individual home provider? Such as any person related by blood, marriage or other relationships that legally binds you to that candidate to be observed

  3. Do I have a child in the candidate's classroom and/or family child care home? Such as your own child by birth, adoption and/or marriage

  4. Will I profit in anyway from providing services for this program/home other than a observation experience (not including funds rendered from CECPD for your services)? Such as personal and/or professional gain or compensation
