Approval Process
What does the Tier II approval process entail? All currently approved educators on the Oklahoma Training Approval System (formally the Oklahoma Registry Consultant-Educator Services), organizations providing training to child care staff (i.e. Headstart, Early Care and Education Professional Organizations, For Profit and Non-Profit Child Care Program in-house training programs, State Agencies, Resource and Referral Agencies, etc.) wishing to provide training to providers that is at least four hours in length on a specific topic area, must submit a Learning Goals and Objectives Application (pdf) to CECPD for approval. This application form will require a 30 day processing timeline.
Once approved, CECPD will provide a Training Approval System number to be placed on the training organization's certificate.
For institutions such as higher education and career technology that are providing non-credit bearing training to child care providers, these entities must be aware that "Tier II" can only be denoted on the training certificate generated by the institution if the training is on a specific topic and at least four hours in length. We encourage these institutions to contact CECPD with this training opportunity information so that we can publicize it on the training web page to assist providers in locating Tier II training opportunities in Oklahoma.
