The sixteen hour CECPD Adult Education Course is broken down into 5 modules. Each module is 3 hours except Module 5, which is 4 hours. To meet the CECPD educator requirement initially, an educator will have to attend all five modules (one time) to equal sixteen hours of training. For renewal, an educator will need to complete Modules 11 and 12.
Module 1 (3 hours) TAS System and CECPD Updates
Come discover the updated Training Approval System including CECPD updates. Information will be shared about what it means to be an Independent Contractor. Also gain knowledge about developing your own professional portfolio.

Module 2 (3 hours) Strategies to Facilitate Learning
Participants can not use what they learned if they can’t remember it; and they won’t use what they learned if they aren’t motivated. Come, discover strategies to help facilitate learning, capture the learner’s attention and motivate them.

Module 3 (3 hours) Promoting Hands On, Effective Adult Learning
Surprise your participants with training sessions that are informational as well as FUN. In Module Three, tips and tricks will be covered to promote hands on, effective adult learning.

Module 6.1 (3 hours) CDA Advisor Training
The CDA Advisor Training is required training for any educator who wishes to perform the CDA observation and receive payment through CECPD. CECPD must have documentation of an educator attending this training every 3 years.

Module 6.2 (3 hours) Experienced CDA Advisor Training
Experienced CDA Advisor training is for those CDA Advisors that have performed CDA observations for more than a year and want to learn more about technique and sharing ideas about experiences.

Module 8 (4 hours) Pathways to Professional Growth Educator Training Click here for Module 8 training schedule
This training is required for those educators interested in teaching the new Pathway Curriculum. Pathway is a comprehensive CDA Preparation Curriculum that consists of 17 units of formal education. Pathway covers all eight content areas for the CDA Credential. Come and discover this new curriculum and learn all the tips, tricks and techniques for teaching the Pathway Curriculum.

Participants will go over the CDA process from beginning to end. It includes the Scholarship process from Scholars for Excellence, filling out the direct assessment application, information about the verification visit and final assessment.

Always wanted to develop your own training and make sure the participants learned something valuable and useful in their classroom? In this module, you will learn how to include the core competencies and environment rating scales criteria in your training. You will also learn how to gain and keep the participants’ attention as well as figure out what they learned from your training.

This training is a follow-up to Designing Effective and Engaging Training in which you will develop a 2-hour training prior to attending this session. This 2-hour training will be submitted to the instructor for review one week prior to the session. You will present your training to the group and will receive useful feedback from the instructor and your peers. This will help strengthen your knowledge in developing effective trainings.
