Leadership Academy I - Tier II Training

Leadership Academy I is designed for child care directors, assistant directors, and administrators.  The Academy provides leadership skills training and focuses on ways to become a more effective leader to meet the needs of staff and children in their care.  Leadership Academy I provides 47 hours of training and meets the training requirements for Two- and Three-Star Centers. Application packets are mailed to all Licensed Child Care Centers in Oklahoma in the Spring and Fall of each year.

  • Traits/Behaviors/Characteristics
  • Advocacy
  • Mentoring
  • Coping with Change
  • Discipline
  • Program Administration Scale

All applicants meeting the following requirements will be considered:

  • You must hold a current Oklahoma Director's Credential;
  • Participate in "Reaching for the Stars"
  • Strong preference will be given to those centers who serve state subsidy children; and
  • Centers will be required to have a pre-Program Administration Scale (PAS) assessment prior to the beginning class session and a post-PAS six months after completing the Leadership Academy I training.
