Leadership Academy I - Tier II Training
Leadership Academy I is designed for child care directors, assistant directors, and administrators. The Academy provides leadership skills training and focuses on ways to become a more effective leader to meet the needs of staff and children in their care. Leadership Academy I provides 47 hours of training and meets the training requirements for Two- and Three-Star Centers. Application packets are mailed to all Licensed Child Care Centers in Oklahoma in the Spring and Fall of each year.

- Leadership Practices
- Traits/Behaviors/Characteristics
- Advocacy
- Mentoring
- Coping with Change
- Discipline
- Program Administration Scale
All applicants meeting the following requirements will be considered:
- You must hold a current Oklahoma Director's Credential;
- Participate in "Reaching for the Stars"
- Strong preference will be given to those centers who serve state subsidy children; and
- Centers will be required to have a pre-Program Administration Scale (PAS) assessment prior to the beginning class session and a post-PAS six months after completing the Leadership Academy I training.
