The Oklahoma Professional Development Ladder verifies that individuals have met all State of Oklahoma Department of Human Services entry-level and continuing education training requirements. The formal training received will determine the level on which the professional is located on the career ladder and is the foundation for the Oklahoma Director's Credential. The Ladder must be renewed annually to keep all professional development information current. Cost: $10.00 (Non-refundable processing fee made payable by check or money order to "The University of Oklahoma")

What information do I need to submit with the completed Oklahoma Professional Development Ladder application?
- Proof of current certifications or credentials
- Official College or university transcript(s) (Note: All degree(s) and credit hours must be earned at an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.)
- If applicable, a copy of the center, home or program accreditation certificate
- Enclose $10.00 (Non-refundable processing fee made payable by check or money order to "The University of Oklahoma")

The Professional Development Ladder is renewable annually. Participants must meet the initial requirement of any level, plus the renewal requirement of 20 Tier I or higher training hours taken in the past 12 months.

What is the Oklahoma Director's Credential and how much does it cost?
The Oklahoma Director's Credential (renewable every three years) verifies education, professional contributions, and experience to place a director on a career ladder at the Bronze, Silver, or Gold level based upon the information provided annually on the Oklahoma Professional Development Ladder.

The Oklahoma Director's Credential is renewable every 3 years. Participants must meet initial requirements of either the Bronze, Silver or Gold level, plus the renewal requirement of 60 Tier 1 or higher training hours taken in the past 3 years.

What are the five criteria requirements to be a Bronze Level Director?
GED or High School Diploma 6 approved credit hours in ECE/CD OR minimum of 90 formal hours OR recognized Credential or Certificate (CDA or CCP) 3 approved credit hours of Admin/Mgmt or Minimum of 40 formal hours (Tier II) of administration and management knowledge or skills 3 years experience in Early Childhood Professional Development setting, or 12 months documented administrative internship or supervised lab 2 points Professional Contributions
What are the five criteria requirements to be a Silver Level Director?
Post-Secondary Course in written and oral communication 12 approved credit hours in ECE/CD 6 approved credit hours in Business or related courses 18 months experience in Early Childhood Administrative setting or 12 months documented administrative internship or supervised lab 4 points Professional Contributions
What are the five criteria requirements to be a Gold Level Director?
Associate, Baccalaureate, or advanced degree 12 approved credit hours in ECE/CD 6 approved credit hours in Business or related courses 1 year experience in Early Childhood Administrative setting or 12 months documented administrative internship or supervised lab 6 points Professional Contributions
