Focused Portfolios™ Training Calendar

"Implementation Overview"

This session will provide a hands-on approach to supporting teaching staff as they learn to implement the Focused Portfolios assessment process. Regular support for portfolio implementation helps maintain commitment and raises the likelihood of success. It will provide you the information necessary in determining if this system is appropriate for your center! 4 clock hours and .4 CEU's.

Open for any facility considering child assessment.


Focused Portfolios 1: "Starting to Implement the Focused Portfolios™ Assessment Process"

This session provides training on the Focused Portfolios Process, which is a system for documenting a child's growth and development using a planned structure that captures and illustrates all areas of development and progress. Teachers will learn techniques, tools, and strategies for getting started.

Thinking, Reasoning & Problem Solving (Prerequisite FP1)

This session will provide a more detailed, in-depth look at the developmental area of thinking, reasoning, and problem solving. It brings insight into individualized teaching practices. Providing greater understanding of this developmental area will give the participant a deeper understanding of the entire Focused Portfolios system. 6 clock hours and .6 CEUs.


"Milestones and Early Learning Guidelines Crosswalk"

This session will provide information on the Oklahoma Early Learning Guidelines and how the Focused Portfolios Assessment System is correlated with it. Additionally, participants will learn how successful implementation of Focused Portfolios ensures teachers are meeting the states early learning guidelines. 6 clock hours and .6 CEUs.

Prerequisite: Participant must have completed a Focused Portfolios I training.
