NH1 With Loving Arms Caring for AIDS Infants

NH5 Nutrition for Infants and Children Under Six
Meeting children's nutritional needs is a major goal as well as a concern for both parents and caregivers. Between conflicting information about what is healthy and the often finicky appetites of children, parents and caregivers often see the selection of appropriate foods as a dilemma. Caregivers and parents often find conflicting information about the kinds and amounts of foods needed for infants and children under age 6. Nutrition for Infants and Children Under 6 is an excellent program that focuses on nutritional needs as defined by the Food Guide Pyramid, for three specific stages of development: Infants: birth to 12 months; Toddlers: 1-3 years; and Preschool-age children: 3-5 years. NH6 Ingredients for a Good Start
In child care programs, feeding children is one of the most important things a caregiver does because of the major role eating habits and attitudes play in children's long-term health. This video relates development to nutrition in a clear and easily accessible presentation by going through the young, mobile and older stages of infancy in detail. It also contains a section on the food pyramid and discusses healthy food choices for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. California Department of Education. (25 mins.)

NH7 Stranger Danger
This film is a thorough program that shows parents and caregivers how to safety rules to children; how to help children recognize who is or isn't a stranger; where to instruct children to find safety zones if they are scared or in danger; and how to prepare children to become streetwise to potentially dangerous situations. The goal is to parents how not to scare children but to prepare them. By knowing how to react to strangers, children could save their own lives in the event of an incident.
