Providers can reduce
the spread of infection by using good hygiene, including proper
handwashing and diapering techniques. As part of its multimedia
training program, The ABC's of Safe and Healthy Child Care, the
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has developed these
programs to demonstrate procedures for handwashing and diapering
that will help prevent the spread of infection. Even the most experienced
provider should be able to use many of the helpful tips and recommendations,
including when and how to use rubber gloves when changing diapers.
